A Document Management “Oops”

So imagine you’re on the road, and someone gives you a document and you, all happy about this hot new cloud feature in QuickBooks, asks the person if you could scan it into your online document database.

Impressed and intrigued, they wish to see how this works.  So you go to the Workplace website, log in, click on the QuickBooks Document Management button, and your eyes start scanning….hmmm…I don’t see it…so you click on “Help” and find out that it’s no application help system, but simply the Intuit Support website.  Feeling somewhat embarrassed, you slink away with document in hand rather than ask them to scan it to a file and attach it from their hard drive.

And think to yourself, “Remember next time, there is no way to scan documents into the Document Management system from the Workplace, you can only do it from within QuickBooks from within the screen where you are attaching the document.”

  1. The issue you mentioned is why the SmartVault document management system (https://my.smartvault.com/link/?ScottG) may be a better solution in some cases.

Smart Vault allows you to scan from your desktop into the cloud, and then attach to QuickBooks later.
