My "bread-and-butter" is in the area of Accounting and Finance, as I graduated with a degree in Accounting, earned my CPA in 1984, and the core of my responsibilities has been in financial management.

I have experience in a variety of industries, with both domestic and international organizations.  While being a generalist, specialties of mine include working with small businesses (anywhere from pure start-ups through $30 million in annual revenue), and assisting in turning around troubled organizations.

Most notably, I joined a small, family owned business which struggled to earn profits and was always strapped for cash.  Through a variety of techniques (e.g., implementation of MRP, formal processes for cash management, developing product/segment profitability analyisis, automating accounts receivable collections process and streamlining operations), we became consistently profitable and generated enough cash to not only pay off our line-of-credit, but also pay down substantial owner loans while maintaining a strong cash and overall financial position.  The end result was that we became attractive enough to be acquired by a major international publicly held corporation, bringing a sought-after liquidity event to the owners.

Some of the areas I may be able to assist you in are as follows.

  • Product/Profitability Reviews
  • Budgeting
  • Cash Flow Management
  • Inventory Management
  • Process Improvement
  • Accounts Receivable Collections
  • Tax Audits
  • General Cost Control
  • Due Diligence
